We are a music ministry from the UK which exists to glorify the Lord by writing and producing Christ exalting songs for the narrow way. Our purpose is to serve the local church with songs that equip and spur on Christians by expressing our joy and certain hope amidst the dangers and brutal realities of the Christian life as we long to grow more like Jesus. We do this by writing and singing songs that remind ourselves who God is and what He has done as well as who we are in Christ and what His purposes are for us.

‘But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.’

1 Peter 2v9

I am.

Remember Christian who you are! In our daily life of struggle against conforming to the patterns of this world, in an enticing culture that is obsessed with self determined identity, we must put on the whole armour of God and remember who we are as Children of God. We are paid for in full, we are redeemed, set apart, regenerate, we have been changed, we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession. In Christ we are His Estate. Our identity in Him is reason to sing for joy!

‘For Christ has made us Citizens of heaven

And none can ever snatch us from His hand

For by His blood He purchased our salvation

And in His Name we stand.’

‘Don’t Be Afraid’

We are.

We are passionate about the local church and in particular our family at Gracemount Community Church. We walk the difficult path together that leads to life. One of the ways we serve and contribute to the life of GCC is by writing and producing word centred songs to disciple, encourage and spur on our brothers and sisters where we live in Gracemount.

Now we sing! United in the fight

Justified by faith and righteous in God’s sight

Let this local church display this truth for all to see

That we were once condemned But now in Jesus Christ we’re free.’

‘Who Are We?’

Gracemount is.

Gracemount is a council estate (also known as a scheme in Scotland) in the south of Edinburgh. Council estates are areas of local government housing in the UK which tend to feature highest in multiple deprivation statistics. People living in poverty is common here, as is addiction, abuse, mental health issues, dysfunctional families, illiteracy, unemployment, crime, hopelessness. There is much darkness here and GCC exists to proclaim the excellencies of Christ who called us out of the darkness into His marvellous light.

‘Let His church declare His glory

Let His gospel spread like a flame

Till all our neighbours and family

Have heard His call and been set free.’

‘Praise His Name’

We are a husband and wife team who operate out of our home in Gracemount where we do most of the recording, editing and production of music and video ourselves. We are thankful to have part time jobs in Gracemount which allows us the opportunity to display the gospel in our local community, as well as time to write and record new songs.

By God’s grace alone our songs are now sung in churches around the world from various different contexts. It is a blessing and joy to share these songs and resources with you. If you are in Christ, you too share the privileged and undeserved title of His Estate and this blessed calling; to joyfully proclaim the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray that the Lord would continue to inspire us and give us songs to write. So many of our friends here in Gracemount face significant daily trials and have many specific and complex needs. We want to encourage them by writing songs of biblical truth in a way that is memorable, creative, gospel saturated, hope filled and Christ exalting.

  • Please pray that the Lord would provide for this music ministry and that He alone would get the glory for everything we do.

  • Please pray that we would grow in Godliness and find our identity in Christ and not in this music ministry. These passions can so easily become idols.

In Christ and for His glory!

Sol & Carlie Fenne

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
